I am Sarah Kay. I officiate, plan, and make. Every ceremony is built from the ground up for the two of you, from materials I gather where you are getting married. Nothing on this site was made for anyone else.
What I do
I make weddings, the way you would make a meal for someone you love.
Every couple gets their own ceremony, written for them. Vows arrive in the shape of a lesson plan — three virtues, three blessings, three promises — passed back and forth on cards so the emotion has a place to rest.
I gather the materials before we have spoken. Driftwood from the north fork of the canyon. Copper from a 1908 schoolhouse, patinated blue. Beetle wings stitched into lace. Sea glass from a beach someone once camped at as a child. There are no accidents.
On the day, I bring the rest of what you didn't know to ask for: faux-fur capes in the cold, oxygen for the elders, a wasp-sting kit in the warm season, slip-on dress shoes for grandma. The day moves the way it should because nothing has been left to chance.

A bouquet built from pieces that corkscrew left. I picked these up before I knew who they were for. She had a name like a river when she finally wrote to me.

Patinated blue. Worn at a green-and-copper ceremony in the trees behind Lipan Point. He told me later he had never imagined himself in any color but black.
